5 Things to Love | Kauai, Hawaii

After spending a week on Kauai in January (yes, this is a very late post!), my skin was perfectly sun-kissed, my hair lightened from the sun, my stresses washed away and my mind full of wonderful memories of sunrise whale watching, grilling burgers on the beach, digging my toes in the sand, listening to live Hawaiian music, diving into waves, beachside bonfires, watching 20 foot waves and being able to experience it all with my love and our friends! Here are some of my favorites from Kauai!

Kapaʻa Sunrise | JessBowTravels

What is there NOT to love about watching the sunrise in Kauai? Every morning, Shandi and I woke up while it was still dark and walked along the beach while the sun rose. We watched crabs digging holes, looked at unique pieces of coral that washed ashore and talked about life and random goodness. We watched a crew of dolphins jumping and playing, we watched whales breaching along the suns reflection on the sea…all while drinking delicious Kauai Coffee!

Kalihiwai | JessBowTravels

Situated on a quiet, secluded beach, down a lush green road is Kalihiwai. Living inside one of the few houses on this road is a friend from High School, Madison! I had not seen Madison in at least 11 years. I always followed her Hawaiian life online and hoped someday I could visit her in Hawaii. I was thrilled when she invited us to her beachfront home to spend time with her, her boyfriend and their two precious kids. We were greeted with the warmest welcome and a kiss on the cheek from everyone we met. Chad (her boyfriend) cooked steaks, started a bonfire and sang while playing the ukelele. I got to meet her precious babies and hear stories of her life in Hawaii, all while sitting on a beautiful beach.

Hanalei Bay | JessBowTravels

We spent a lot of time in the Hanalei Bay area, it was by far our favorite place to hang out. Lots of food and treats to choose from, and one of the most beautiful beaches to swim in! The sand was soft and the views were magical. I could visit this beach every day and never get sick of it.

Ke'e Beach | JESSBOWTRAVELS.com

By far the most exotic and beautiful beach I have ever been to. Looking at the mist covered mountains of the Na Pali Coast while laying in the sand was an unforgettable experience. We visited twice and on the second visit, got to watch the biggest waves we have ever seen!

Waimea Canyon | Jess Bow Travels

Ive lived in Arizona my entire life and I have never visited the Grand Canyon. But, I have officially visited the Grand Canyon of the Pacific…Waimea Canyon! Mind blowing views and an exciting drive! A must when visiting Kauai.
